About the Event

Join us at the Latino Lorain Veterans Story Walk Dedication Ceremony, sponsored by the Bonner Center for Service and Learning of Oberlin College & Conservatory. The ceremony will take place in Oakwood Park along the Police Chief Cel Rivera Memorial Highway of State Route 57. All ten Story Walk stations will be officially unveiled during the ceremony.

The Story Walk uses oral history interviews to highlight the experiences of Latino Veterans and their service in the military. This outdoor exhibit explores various themes related to military service, including patriotism, sacrifice, and self-transformation.

Following the conclusion of the Story Walk dedication, we invite you to celebrate Mexican Independence Day. The Mexican Mutual Society will host the celebration between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. at 1820 E. 28th Street in Lorain.
